Electronic Music

Recommended artists

Here I'm starting a list of electronic musicians I'd like to call to your attention.

At the moment it's a rather short list. The intention is to add more...

Brian C. Bennetts
Synergy, a.k.a Larry Fast, was one of my favorite electronic music artists back in the late 1970s, so I did a search for Synergy-influenced musicians. This is one of the best of those I found.
Jeff Bergman
Another of the better Synergy-influenced musicians I've found.
Wendy Carlos
The original -- the one who made "synthesizer" a household word. And I have to editorialize a bit: I keep reading that her writings are "arrogant" or "self-aggrandizing" or "snobbish", and I have to wonder: which Wendy Carlos are these people reading? To me she always comes across as the next-door synth whiz who's come over for a cup of coffee and to talk shop. Or maybe several cups of coffee... there's a lot on her web site.
Major Zed
OK, I'm biased. I went to college back in the 1970s with Major Zed; we shared an apartment with the two other guys who made up the male 80% of PRT (not the hip hop group, but who knows, maybe we were a trip hop group); we listened to Kraftwerk and Oldfield and Yes and Pink Floyd (and, of course, Synergy) together. I haven't laid eyes on the guy in about twenty years, but I've laid ears on his stuff.
Synergy
Larry Fast himself, one of the founding fathers of the genre.
