December 5, 2001
Meeting
Jennifer
read the minutes from the November meeting.
Dennis read the treasury report- no change and still $268.
Business- Elections
are in January. Current nominations:
President- Ron Lioto
Vice President- Rich Pitzeruse
Secretary- Winnie Pitzeruse
Treasurer- Dennis Friend
Editor- David Harbaugh
Newsletter- Jennifer got photos, launch report, and labels to
David.
Weigand photo- Jennifer brought a print out of what the photo
looks like that Ned has. Rich is getting negatives from
Ned. Winnie will mat and frame.
The possibility of another club project was mentioned.
David thought it would be a neat idea to all build the same
rocket, work together, see how others come out. Then it
was discussed should it be a kit or from plans. Everyone
seemed to think that from plans might be more fun and better
learning experience than a kit. A nifty old Estes kit
was discussed- maybe Trident, Solar Sailor, Andromeda, or Orbital
Transport. We will bring pictures of these to the next
meeting so we can choose which one we might like to do.
Dennis passed around a new rocket book he got- Spaceship Handbook
that has been advertised in rocket magazines. Great designs
and photos of some ships, even old Sci-Fi ships.
Aerotech blowing up was mentioned and Rich said that he heard
that Aerotech believes they will have motors available again
by LDRS 2002. They are going to start with the most commonly
sold motors- 38mm white lightning's.
Program next month- Rich mentioned having an after the holidays
party. Bring a snack or dish to pass. Rich said
he'd bring taco dip, Jenn will bring some drinks and cups.
Program- Rich
demonstrated how he makes igniters.
November 7, 2001
Meeting

seconded.

Jennifer nominated Rich for Vice President,
Dennis seconded.
David nominated Ron for president, Jenn
seconded.
Winnie semi-volunteered for secretary, David
seconded.
Web page- Jennifer asked Matthew and Julie if they would be
interested in taking over the web page. Matthew and Julie
would be willing to do it, but right now may possibly be moving,
but either way could set it up. Jennifer and them will
work out the details later. No real hurry till spring.
Program next month- Rich will demonstrate how he makes his igniters.
Program-
Theo gave a talk about the work he has done on his Little John
project.
October
3, 2001 Meeting
Jennifer

Dennis read the treasury report- $268 currently.
Business-
Jennifer said that Ron has training classes for work and will
either be late or won't be able to attend meetings till January.
Nominations are coming up for elections in January. Due
to Jennifer's pregnancy- someone will be needed to fill the
secretary position. Anyone can run for any of the positions.
A newsletter needs to come out before elections and David needs
articles. We need people to write launch reports.
Rich emailed Mike from MARS and said thanks, but no thanks to
the offer on NYPower.
Weigand photo- put on back burner- still need to contact Ned.
Dennis gave Jennifer some new blocks that he made for the launch
pads- Thanks Dennis!
There was an application that had been overlooked and the member
did not receive his cards. We decided to extend his due
date to one year from now.
Program next month- Theo will talk about his Little John project.
Program-
Rich should the work he has done, and what he plans to do to
rebuild his giant Citation Patriot.
September
5, 2001 Meeting

Dennis read the treasury report- $302 currently.
Business- Winnie
gave an update on the T-Shirts- we sold 38 T-Shirts plus the one
given to Mr. Weigand totaling $314 taken in. Total cost of
shirts was $350.76 leaving a balance of $36.76. Seeing there
are 19 shirts available still, it shouldn't be long till the club
breaks even or ends up with a profit.
Ron made a motion to reimburse Winnie $37 for the balance of the
shirts, David seconded, all were in favor.
Ron purchased an 8 foot rail and the total was $36. All were
in favor of reimbursing Ron.
Rich brought up that Mike from MARS asked if we would be interested
in co-hosting NYPower next year. The possible pro's and con's
of this were discussed and it was decided that for now it was best
to say thanks, but no thanks.
Should we do something for Mr. Weigand? What would be appropriate
as a thank you for using the field? A possible photo of his
land and field was discussed. Rich could do the photo, Winnie
could mat and frame it. Rich would look into if Ned had a
decent overhead shot from his camera rocket.
Program next month- Rich would discuss the reconstruction of his
giant rocket that crashed.

Business- John
DeMar reimbursed club $10 for previous contest launch.
Ron asked for reimbursement of $52 for the motor from the club rocket.
Ron also purchased $25 worth of electronic parts that he would donate.
Donations were taken to cover the motor, and all agreed to reimburse
Ron $52 for the motor. All together the club ended up $6 ahead
for the whole rocket project thanks to all the generous donations.
Winnie went over the expenses and what we have collected from the
shirts.
Ned notified Ron of an inexpensive place we could purchase a rail
launcher from and thought it would be a good idea for the club to
have one.
Everyone voted and agreed to spend up to $35 for a 6 foot rail,
$40 for a 8 foot.

launch is scheduled for July 21.

electronics compartments, what he had done ahead of time and what
would need to be done at the launch.

6, 2001 Meeting
Jennifer
read May's minutes.
Dennis was not present to read treasury report.
Business-
Next launch is scheduled for June 16.
July's meeting falls on the 4th of July. With
working on the rocket it was agreed to move the meeting a week
early to get parts together before NYPower.
Shirts- The shirts were ordered and were supposed to be done,
but were on 50/50 rather than 100% cotton. Some people
would like 50/50- some really wanted 100%. It was
discussed to make a deal with the place if they would sell the
goofs cheap. Winnie offered to front the money till sold.
Building Session-
We decided to
split up parts of the rocket for different people to paint.
A general paint scheme was decided on. Marty took the
nose cone. David took the upper portion of the booster.
Winnie would do the sustainer, Jenn would do sustainer fins,
the lower booster would be given to Dennis.
May 2, 2001 Meeting
Jennifer
read April's minutes.
Dennis gave the monthly treasury report.
Business-
Next launch is scheduled for May 19.
John DeMar emailed asking about doing another contest launch
this year. We discussed last year's launch and the cost
of a different field and setting up equipment. A vote
was help and all voted in favor of holding a contest launch
at our regular monthly launch at Weigand's.
Shirts- Jenn read the price estimates of shirts. It would
end up costing about $10 a shirt. Preorders were taken
so we knew roughly what sizes and number to order.
Rich mentioned it would be neat looking if we all signed up
for range duty at the same time wearing out SRC shirts.
Whoever wished to participate could sign up on-line.
Building Session-
Due to trying to get the high power rocket completed for NYPower,
business is being kept short at the meetings.

Mr. Weigand agreed to meet on April 14th to put up the
