N-COPA NATIONAL CONFERENCE 1997

The National Coalition on Police Accountability (N-COPA) will hold its annual meeting and conference at Temple University in Philadelphia on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, August 1 - 3, 1997. This is N-COPA's 7th annual conference, co-sponsored locally with Philadelphia's American Friends Service Committee, Police-Barrio Relations Project, and the Criminal Justice Dept.of Temple University.

Confirmed presenters include: Ramona Africa (MOVE), Stephan Presser (Philadelphia ACLU), Karen Black (Philadelphia Coalition on Police Accountability), Dan Ho Sang (People United for a Better Oakland), Allan Parachini (Southern California ACLU), Ron Hampton (National Black Police Association), Jim Eisenhower (former District Attorney), Tony Coleman (Oakland AFSC), Maria Jimenez (AFSC Immigration Law Enforcement Monitoring Project), Gary Webb (San Jose "Mercury News"), Peter Shell (Pittsburgh Campus Coalition for Peace & Justice; Jonny Gammage case organizer), Gerald Lemelle (Amnesty International), Jim Fyfe (Professor of Criminal Justice, Temple University).
