BEFORE PROPOSING A TRADE ...
Please take a minute to read this page and the guidelines section. Sorry no 2:1 or blank trades at this time.

1ST DEGREE BURNS

TRYING TO GET MY SHIT TOGETHER SUMMER 2002
I literally have two years worth of recorded masters and cdr's received from trades that I need to catalog and include in here. That is my big goal for the summer. I've got two weeks before school starts, and it still hasn't happened yet. But the fact that I'm sitting here, updating this website, is a good sign. Stay tuned.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR PART ONE
I'm currently really into the Boston singer/songwriter scene. So if you have soundboards, broadcasts, or high quality audience recordings from Voices On The Verge, Deb Talan, Erin McKeown, Peter Mulvey, etc. then please get in touch! I have a few things to trade, I just haven't updated my list yet. Soon!
SEND DETAILED LISTS
Please keep in mind that I'm more likely to look over a detailed list that includes your burning setup, disk lengths, sources, and gradings than one with no specifics.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR PART DUH
Dammit, doesn't anyone have any POOKA shows? Or know who POOKA is? Oh well, I'm always on the lookout for any shows with exceptional sound quality from bands that I like. You can go to my wantlist to get an idea of the bands I'm into. I'm not opposed to audio cd's burned from mp3 sources, as long as the end result sounds nice. I try to stay away from making (and accepting) cd's that came from mp3's encoded at less than 192mbps --- too many artifacts that are noticeable in the end recording.
MASTER RECORDINGS
Recordings marked in gold as such 1-CD are from shows that I've personally transferred myself from minidisc or cassette. Any analog or MP3 generations are typically from trades I've made and are noted when known.
MY BURNING AND ENCODING SETUP
My computer is a Power Macintosh 8600/200. I extract audio with the 12x internal cd-rom drive using Toast Audio Extractor (with the "safer but slower" buffering option turned on.) I burn CD-R's with a YAMAHA 6x CD-RW CRW6416SX, the most reliable burner I've ever owned. I burn audio using Adaptec Jam 2.6. I encode MP3's using SoundJam. I use Sound Edit 2.1 for manipulating audio; fades, cuts, etc. When transferring audio from cassette to CD-R, I use Adaptec's Spin Doctor Pro and it's noise filter to reduce tape hiss.
NOTHING TO TRADE?
If you don't have a burner, or have nothing to trade please visit the newbie section. I'll swap these extra audio cd's in need of a good home out for blank CDRs and postage.
