THE FIRST COMMANDMENT The first commandment of trading should be: burn unto others as you would have others burn unto you. Better put: make the cd-r or tape you send out the kind of document that you yourself would like to have. When I screw up a CD-R, I don't just send it out. I redo it. Same goes with tapes. I will try to make them as close to the original as I possibly can. I hope you will do the same for me. If there is a problem with a tape or cd-r you receive from me, let me know, and I will try to make it right. I would like the same treatment, please. A WORD ABOUT MY TURNAROUND The internet has sped up trading. Before trading sprouted on the internet, it was all done by snailmail, and the accepted turnaround time for a trade (stateside) was 1 month. Now that email exists, people expect shorter turnaround times for a trade. Maybe people start getting nervous; I don't know. What I do know is that a month is still the standard for me. I can't guarantee a faster turnaround than a month, unless we specifically agree to something shorter ahead of time. I have a family, I go to school full time, I work part time, and there are times when these 3 areas of life suck up all my time, leaving no time for this fun hobby of mine. NOTE: It is summer as I write this, and I'm not currently in school, so I can guarantee a faster turnaround time: two weeks. This offer is good only till the end of September, when school starts again. USE QUALITY MEDIA & DON'T WRITE ON DISKS If you got it for free, or paid 50 cents for it, it probably isn't quality media, ya know?? My favorite brands are Maxell, TDK, Verbatim, Memorex, Imation. Some of these are frowned upon by big CD-R traders, but I've never had a problem with any of the above media. I do have problems with generics at times. SEND DETAILED LISTS The more info you can give me, the better. Tracklisting, track times, source info, burn or transfer info. All of it is helpful. BE HONEST ABOUT SOUND AND QUALITY There is nothing worse than picking an "A" or "EXC" show from someone's list, and it turns out to be a "C" or "VG-". Please rate your discs carefully and honestly. Also, please be forthright and honest about source. If it came from mp3's, I want to know. I'm not interested in crappy sounding shows. Who is?? See the "first commandment" section above. ALWAYS BURN DISK AT ONCE Please use a cd recorder capable of Disc At Once. If your burner isn't capable of DAO, I suggest you get one that is. Disc at Once allows you to have tracks with no pauses in between. Any live cd's I receive with 2 second gaps in between each song are not acceptable. SHIPPING & PACKAGING I prefer not to send cases, because they get cracked, and they add to postage costs. Rather, I would like to use sleeves. I have been using pro sleeves, made by case logic. They are more protective than paper sleeves, and only cost about 4.00 for a package of 20 or so. Please use some kind of sleeve if we don't do cases--don't just stack cd's on top of each other bare-ass naked in those padded envelopes. This is a recipe for scratches galore--like taking a bath in razor blades. ARTWORK: TO SEND OR NOT TO SEND? I won't be sending artwork with the cd's unless we agree on it ahead of time. Color copies of the artwork are nice to have, but they are pretty expensive, and many times the artwork is crappy anyway. A tracklisting would be nice if we don't trade artwork.
