I'm an Assistant Professor
in the Department of Philosophy at Syracuse University. My dissertation
(MIT, 2002) was about whether social norms can constrain what a speaker
can communicate. My main philosophical
interests are in philosophy of language (assertion, context-dependence),
feminist philosophy (silencing, subordination), and philosophy of law (free
speech).
