All members are required to work (4) hours a year.
On a scheduled work
day, a league night, setting up for a match or the day of the match (on the grounds or in the
kitchen). It is the member's responsibility to see that the person in charge that gives you
credit for the hour's work. Anyone not working their (4) hours will be assessed $25.00
on their next year's membership.

Camillus Sportsmen Club 2007 General Rules and Regulations
Membership is a Family Membership, wife plus children and grandchildren thru age 18.
OUTDOOR SHOOTING HOURS are 9:00 AM to SUNSET – Strictly Enforced
Membership year, January 1 to December 31. Door combination is changed March 1.
You are required to carry your membership card and show it when asked.
Non-senior members must work 4 hours per year or be assessed $25 with dues.
As a member you are allowed one guest for a $2.00 fee. You are responsible for the guest’s conduct.
No hunting on club property. Eye and Ear protection are mandatory while shooting.
No alcoholic beverages permitted on any firing line.
Trap and Skeet machines are for general membership use only when operated by club directors. Fees will be charged. Personal hand traps can be used at any time on the sporting clays or skeet fields. You provide the targets. Un-broken clay targets found on the grounds can be picked up and re-thrown.
The indoor range may be used any hour of the day as long as there is not a conflicting activity. Range doors must remain closed after sunset to reduce noise.
No firearms are to be handled in the Clubhouse except to transport to the Indoor or Trap range.
All firearms are to be unloaded until shooter is at the firing line ready to shoot.
All firearms carried on club property should be carried in a visibly safe condition, unloaded and actions open or broken. Use open bolt indicators whenever possible.
Firearms should be loaded with one shell only unless shooter is participating in a rapid-fire event, function testing the firearm, or limited by the design of the firearm. Indiscriminate firing of large capacity ammunition magazines will be discouraged. Check with a club officer if you have a question.
Human silhouette paper targets are allowed only for law enforcement members shooting for law enforcement training. Targets must be removed from frames before leaving the club grounds.
Steel swinger targets on outdoor ranges are for pistol or 22 Rim Fire use only.
Target debris and empty shells are to be picked up and deposited in the proper trash barrels. Please place expended brass in the specified Brass barrel for recycling.
RANGE SAFETY
- When two or more shooters are using the same range, one shooter will act as RANGE OFFICER ensuring downrange safety. Be aware of adjacent range activity.
- RANGE OFFICER is to insure all firearms on the line are in an unloaded and safe condition before allowing any personnel down range. No firearms are to be handled in any manor on the firing line with personnel down range.
- Use only club provided target frames and use only paper targets on frames. No bottles, cans, or pickup clay’s are to be used as rifle or pistol targets. No personal targets or target frames are to be placed on the ground! DO NOT place targets on, against, or shoot at Trap Houses.
- The 300 yard number board fence is not to be used as a target frame.
INDOOR PISTOL and RIMFIRE RIFLE RANGE
- INDOOR RANGE is for non-jacketed bullets only and Targets must be placed fully downrange.
This means pure lead bullets or commercial frangible loads that turn to powder upon impact. All 22 Rim fire loads are allowed, 17 caliber Rim fire loads are not allowed. All Copper Wash (electroplated) bullets are allowed, check with a club officer if you have an ammunition question. Hand loads are to be kept under 1100 feet per second. These are range safety issue’s!
OUTDOOR PISTOL and RIMFIRE RIFLE RANGE
- The OUTDOOR PISTOL RANGE is for Rim Fire Rifles and non-bottleneck pistol cartridges only.
- No Centerfire Rifles or Muzzle Loaders allowed without having specific permission from a club officer. High velocity Bottleneck pistol cartridges are to be fired on the high power rifle range. Check with a club officer if you have a question on a particular cartridge.
