MAPs These maps were created with the Garmin II+ and eMap
Here are two new maps I have just scanned, both are free. One is of Old Forge and the other is of the Adirondacks. They are good size images, about 2.5 Megs each.
Here is my first trip of the 1999-2000 year. Started at Winoma state forest in Boylston, NY (the Tug Hill area) at 7:30am. Rode in the Little John State Forest for a while until we got use to snowmobiling again. Boy, what a rush, back on the snow again. There was about 8-10 inches of snow. we head over the hill (Tug) to find more. It was 10 am when we took a break at Flat Rock Inn. We found a lot of sledders getting to take off for the trails. There on the eastern side of the hill there was about 2 feet. By early afternoon the trail started to get beaten up and we headed back to the trailer. Boylston to Houseville, NY Here is a trip I took starting at the Cedar Pines Restaurant. The trails were all in excellent condition. I went to Tabot Corners and stop at the Whetstone Gulf State park. If you are in the area it is a stop you must do. What an amazing view. Right in the same area there is a small reservoir that you open her up to see what she got. If you need to get gas, the Nice n EZ in Constableville have regular gas prices. All in all it was a great day, plenty of places to stop on the way to eat and warm up. The Timerview is an excellent place to stop. Osceola to Tabot Corners, NY I took a real short ride from Central Square to Red Field. Good parking right off 81 and most of the trails were if good shape except between Happy Valley and Williamstown. Good gas station in Williamstown. The groomer had just finished grooming the trip between Williamstown and Red Field. I didn't have enough time to continue up to Osceloa. May be next time. Central Square to Red Field, NY This is the last big ride of the season (99-00). It was on a Tuesday and took most of the day. Started in Central Square to Parish, Pulaski, Sandy Creek, Boylson, Red Field, Wiliamstown, Panther Lake, Oneida Lake and back to Central Square. The trails were excellent and 50 degrees out. We rode most of the day with only jeans and T-shirts on.
