Education:
Syracuse University: M.S. Telecommunication
& Network Management
http://istweb.syr.edu
The Master of Science in Telecommunications and
Network Management (TNM) combines an understanding of networking technologies
with knowledge of their applications in organizations. The TNM
degree is a selective 36 credit hour program that provides students
with the skills to design networks, make technology adoption and standards
decisions, create cost models for new technology implementations, calculate
return on investment, and understand the organizational and user implications
of networking systems. Information Studies
is understanding "the human side of technology."
- A Bridge Between Management and Technology
The TNM program is not an engineering or programming degree. It is
designed to give professionals a broader view of how to apply and
use networking technologies to solve business problems. Effective
management of telecommunications and networking requires an understanding
technology in its organizational context. One must know the protocols,
systems, and hardware, but one must also understand budgets, organizational
processes, user needs, vendors and the industry. The degree provides
what an increasing number of businesses tell us they want: technology-savvy
managers who can bridge the gap between the capabilities of IT and
its implementation and use.
- An Entire School Dedicated to IT Management
There is tremendous convergence of skills and applications across
the information professions. At Syracuse University, telecom and networking
professionals have the opportunity to interact with and learn from
students of management information systems, library and information
science, and database professionals. The TNM program is part of an
integrated information school with its own facultya school dedicated
exclusively to training professionals in the information field. Our
larger faculty and graduate student body give us the critical mass
to offer the specialized courses you need.
University at Buffalo: B.S.
Biochemistry
http://www.smbs.buffalo.edu/bch/
The study of biochemistry provides an understanding of the chemical
basis of biological life. Majors in biochemistry learn the basis of
biochemistry, biochemical processes and theories, as well as fundamental
biochemical laboratory techniques. Our program is a blend of vigorous
course work and an opportunity to become involved in research. There
is flexibility in elective selections, so that students may design their
degree program to suit their interests. Majoring in Biochemistry provides
an opportunity for students interested in clinical or basic science
biomedical programs to become part of a department in the UB School
of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Clubs:
Alpha Phi Omega
A wonderful community service fraternity I joined in Spring 2002
at Syracuse University. The brothers are so friendly, open, and unselfish
by dedicating themselves to human kindness. This is all for leadership,
friendship, and service.
Hobbies:
Trombone:
I've been playing ever since I was in 5th grade. I remember I had trouble
deciding between a euphonium and trombone because the tonal ranges were
similar. It came down to the slide or the valve. After watching the
Cosby show where a jazz trombonist guest starred, I immediately chose
trombone the next day. I still don't want to give up my musical abilities
so I played in Syracuse University's Symphonic Band and Marching Band.
Movies and Shows:
My Blue Heaven:
Steve Martin plays as a ex-mobster who is testifying against his
boss. Rick Moranis is an FBI agent who is there to protect Steve Martin
from an untimely death. While spending time together, Steve transforms
Rick from a stodgy character into someone who lives and breaths life.
It's a movie that teaches us to live a life.
Star Trek:
One of the best things about this show is that it brings up moral issues
we, the human population, face at one point or another. In a less than
perfect world, we learn how to rise above the situation to become great
people. "Don't try to become a great man. Just be a man and let
history be the judge."
Music:
Classical Music:
I love classical music. It's the only type of music I can listen
to over and over again. I've listened it to so much that I can the difference
between a Mozart and a Beethoven based on the complexity and style of
the music. My favorite artists is Vanessa Mae who I believe created
techno-classical music. Not only is she talented on the violin, she
is an artist creating the most artisitic music beyond imagination.
Sports:
Figure skating:
Gone are the days of wrestling where the only opponent I face is
myself. Figure skating is just like that, but it takes a different route
with balance, grace, bravery (falling hurts), and self determination.
The ability to overcome one's limitations and expand upon from there.
It's a magical sport where control, finese, and sometimes strength reign.
Paintball:
The absolute best team oriented sport I've played in. This sport
is not about strength and speed, it's about skills, tactics, and bravery.
Every single player on the team is important in attacking or defeating
against opponents. What makes an extraordinary player is not how fast
they are, but how brave the person is and acurracy of the shooting.
Wrestling:
It's a sport I don't play anymore ever since I graduated from high
school. I still miss the workouts and the thrill of battling against
your opponent in a nice friendly match. When I wrestled my best trying
to find every once of strenghth and skill inside me, all of my matches
are winners.
